Can I import recipes from WordPress?
Yes. Paste any recipe URL from your WordPress blog and Recipe Kit builds the recipe. WP Recipe Maker, Tasty Recipes and similar plugins publish the structured data we read. For a whole library, fill in our CSV template and bulk import it, or have our team migrate it for you as a paid add-on. Ingredients, instructions, times, nutrition and images all transfer.
Why move recipes from WordPress to Shopify?
So your recipes and your products share one store and one domain. Search visitors land where they can shop. On Growth, they can add the ingredients to their cart from the recipe. You also stop running a separate blog.
How many recipes can I import at once?
On paid plans, you can import your whole library in one CSV file. The Free plan holds 5 recipes. Large libraries import in one batch, and our team can run very large migrations for you.
Will I lose my search rankings when migrating?
Not if you set up 301 redirects. Once your recipes are published on Shopify, add a redirect from each old URL in Shopify's Online Store > Navigation > URL redirects. Our support team can help you plan it.
Do you offer migration services?
Yes. Our team can migrate your recipes for you with the Recipe Import add-on ($110 USD per 35 recipes, one-time). Email support after installing with your site URL and roughly how many recipes you have.
What data transfers during import?
Recipe imports include title, description, ingredients with quantities, step-by-step instructions, prep time, cook time, servings, nutrition information, categories, tags, and images. All the content you have created transfers to Recipe Kit.
Can I import from platforms other than WordPress?
Yes. Export your recipes to CSV, map the columns to our template and bulk import. You can also import single recipes from any URL, photo, PDF or pasted text. Our support team can help with platform-specific questions.
